TALA, Grace Beverley’s Social First Sustainable Activewear Brand, has raised £4.2M to take their ‘disruption of the activewear industry to the next level”

In 2019 Grace founded TALA after moving away from fast fashion in her everyday clothing, noting that the activewear industry was completely underserved when it came to sustainability. A huge pull from the investor list is Nicola Milner, CEO and founder of Beauty Company Deciem. Could a Beauty x Activewear crossover be on the cards for the brands, especially with Deciem being the parent company of the hugely popular social first brand The Ordinary?

Super Bowl LVI – February 13th

The Cincinnati Bengals take on the LA Rams for what promises to be an incredible match-up across the field. After only 2 seasons in the NFL, Bengals QB. Joe Burrow has led his team to their first SB final since 1989! But the rookie is not to be out done by the Rams QB. vet of Matthew Stafford, who the Rams traded for last year in the hopes that he was the missing piece of the puzzle that would lead them to another SB title. To further fuel the tension for Sunday’s final, Bengals coach Zac Taylor used to work under Rams head coach Sean Mcvay, until taking on the HC role in 2019. Mcvay made history in 2017 after being appointed the Rams HC position, making him the youngest ever HC in modern day NFL history!

If the above wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, this year’s SB HalfTime show performers include Snoop Dog, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar!

TikTok Trend Alert – “That’s Not My Name”

The Ting Tings song, “That’s Not My Name” has been going viral across brands and actors accounts this past week. From the acting space, many famous faces, some of my favourites I’ve linked below, have been sharing the names of famous characters/roles they are known for/played over their careers. From a Brand POV, some have used the sound to highlight the correct pronunciation of their name, or to showcase a range of their best selling products. Both video and still content works for this trend to make it an extremely easy sound and trend to get across for all on the TikTok space.

Series in the Headlines

Pam & Tommy premiered last week. The show is centered around BayWatch Queen Pamala Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee’s roller coaster relationship in the 1990s, with the stars being portrayed by Lily James and Sebastian Stan. The tagline reads “The greatest love story ever sold”, as the Hulu miniseries centres around the time when their unauthorised sex tape was made public. The biographical drama is based on “Pam and Tommy: The Untold Story of the World’s Most Infamous Sex Tape” by Amanda Chicago Lewis. Released on February 2nd, the miniseries has 8 episodes total and new episodes weekly until March 9th, with so far both James and Stan receiving rave reviews for their portrayal of the starlets. The talkability across social is huge for this show, with many movie/tv orientated accounts and reviewers sharing lots of key moments from both of the actors in character, their chemistry and phenomenal likeness to the real life Pam and Tommy.
